Recent donations
Plan B supports food banks in all of the locations in which we work, and we have donated over 31,000 items of food to local community projects.
Through our Random Acts of Kindness initiative, staff at our Great Yarmouth head office pooled their individual budgets to deliver £625 each to two local projects. One of the projects was The Well in Gorleston, which provided a ‘Big Christmas Breakfast’ for their community and the other was the GYNet Community project, which was able to spread a lot of joy to their clients, too.

Social Value in Action – The Lighthouse Project
Our team recently attended a volunteering day with The Lighthouse Project, our chosen charity partner on the Essex County Council HWRC Materials Recycling and Treatment contract. The charity refurbishes pre-loved furniture and electrical appliances for local people in need, helping essential items stay in circulation through the Emergency Living Fund. On the day, our Materials Lead worked alongside the team preparing large domestic appliances for resale, cleaning and carrying out minor repairs to ensure they were ready for collection, a hands-on experience that reinforced our commitment to reuse, sustainability and delivering meaningful social value within the community.
