Work continues apace on Plan B Management Solution’s first ever processing plan. Located in Cardiff, it is designed to handle and process various household recyclable waste materials. To get it ready for July 2025, when the site is due to start operating, we’re hard at work.

Since our last update, drainage has been installed in the yard and a large attenuation tank buried to reduce the flow of rainwater into the public drainage system. With the piling and foundations completed, we’ve started work on the new reception building. Preparations are underway on the pit too.

Inside the main building, the piping for the fire suppression system has been installed along with the National Grid power lines. This means the fire suppression system can be installed, and we’ve taken delivery of an 8 metre high, 60,000 litre water tank.

The new permanent cabins are due to be delivered for the offices, kitchen, mess room, and welfare facilities. This means existing internal offices can be demolished to make way for the installation of the plant.

When operational, the site will handle up to 75,000 tonnes of material annually and provide employment opportunities for local residents.

The facility represents a multi-million pound investment and will open new opportunities to support other local authorities and other potential clients. Craig Cutajar, Plan B’s Material’s Director, says, “We have a clear plan and strong ambition to continue to grow our business, and this is a key project for us”.
