We’re delighted to announce that Plan B Management Solution’s Pyle Community Recycling Centre (CRC) in Bridgend has won Civic Amenity Site of the Year at the Let’s Recycle Awards for ‘Excellence in Recycling & Waste Management’.
Managed by Plan B Management Solutions on behalf of Bridgend County Borough Council, Pyle CRC was recognised for setting the standard in recycling performance, operational excellence, reuse initiatives, safety and community engagement.
Since opening in February 2024, the site has consistently achieved recycling rates above 94.5%, with a peak of 97.6%, while managing 30 separate recyclable waste streams and helping residents maximise reuse and recycling opportunities.
The centre demonstrates innovative operations, strong customer engagement, safe working practices and a successful reuse shop, operated in partnership with Groundwork Wales, supporting local community organisations while diverting valuable materials from disposal.
“I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of our Bridgend team and residents, who have embraced the opportunity to reduce residual waste by diverting as much as possible to either reuse or recycling over the years.
