We’re delighted to reveal that, in a first for Plan B Management Solutions, work has begun on a new processing plant. Located in Cardiff, it is designed to handle and process various household recyclable waste materials. We expect the site to be operational in July 2025, and is permitted to handle up to 75,000 tonnes of material annually.
“This marks an exciting milestone for Plan B Management Solutions,” says Craig Powell, our Business Manager. Plan B currently supports their clients in the marketing and sale of around 280,000 tonnes of material per annum. While groundwork on existing utilities has just begun, significant effort has gone into getting us to this stage, including ensuring we select the right plant for our needs,” says Craig. “My goal now is to deliver the project safely and on time,” he adds.
This facility represents a multi-million pound investment and will open new opportunities to support other local authorities and other potential clients. Craig Cutajar, Plan B’s Material’s Director, has said this has been a plan for some time adding, “investing in our own materials facility has been part of our growth strategy for a little while now and we’re delighted to have made good progress over the last 12 months. We have a clear plan and strong ambition to continue to grow our business, and this is a key project for us”.
The site will provide employment opportunities for local residents, who will be responsible for daily material intake, segregation into high-quality baled materials for recycling, operating mobile plants like forklifts and loading shovels, and maintaining site cleanliness.
