There’s been much activity at Plan B Management Solution’s Cardiff processing plant. The reception hall has been erected and clad with internal works for the fire suppression system and the electrics now complete and ready for commissioning. The yard area has been concreted and the weighbridge installed. The perimeter fencing, including our 8m long entrance gate, has been installed and inside the reception hall, concrete walls for the material bays are being added.
The main processing area, where most of our plant will be used, is being fitted out by Whitham Mills Engineering. The large chain conveyors have been delivered via a large escorted lorry due to their size and weight and are in place. The support steelwork and platforms have now been erected ready for the processing equipment and the picking cabins are in place. The internal walls that are adjacent to the site’s boundary walls have been fitted with fire retardant boards as part of our fire safety plan. The fuel tanks and lifting equipment have all arrived and are on site.
The install works are nearing completion and within the next couple of weeks we are looking forward to entering the all-important commissioning phase getting ready to make the site operational.
“This is a very exciting time for Plan B and shows a considerable investment in our future. There have been a number of hurdles that we have overcome to get to the position we are now in and it is thanks to the hard work and flexibility of our construction partners that shouldn’t be under-estimated, that is enabling Plan B to achieve this big step forward,” Tim Myers, Principal Commercial Advisor, Plan B Management Solutions.
