Calling local authorities and LATCos: would you like to be able to benchmark your waste collection services? What about sharing experiences and learning with others working in the same field?
Plan B Management Solution’s Knowledge Hub has been set up to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing for those working in frontline services.
If you join, we’ll ask for data to allow us to baseline your waste collection services including number of vehicles, staff, property drive by rate, accidents, missed bins, and so on. Your information will be anonymised and used to compare your performance against other local authorities and LATCos. We’ll ask you to update your numbers on a monthly basis so we keep the information current and relevant for all our members.
We host individual bi-monthly benchmarking meetings, and twice-annual group meetings, usually online, for members to share experiences, including ideas for solving mutual challenges and to enhance knowledge and understanding of some of the most common issues facing operational services. Sometimes we invite speakers to join us, or we tackle issues raised by members. We’ll also accept questions from members at any time during the year and will share our findings with the group.
Launched in 2022, we are now eight strong with three poised to join, and we hope to have 12 members by the middle of next year. There’s an annual fee of £1,500, which is discounted by 20% for the first year.
