Plan B in the community – Our Support with Food Banks

At Plan B, giving back has always been a core part of our mission It’s not just about business – it’s about building relationships and making a difference in the lives of those around us. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our incredible team.

Since 2019, our team has been working tirelessly to make a positive impact in our communities and we are beyond proud to announce that together, we’ve donated 102,831 items to food banks.

Here’s a roundup of some of the food bank projects we’ve been supporting this year:

Colchester Food Bank.

The council’s recycling contract with us is not just about eco-friendly initiatives, but also about fostering community support. Through this partnership, we are making a significant donation to Colchester Foodbank, and more donations are set to follow throughout the year.

Aligning with Colchester’s recycling rate, Plan B is committed to contributing an equivalent number of items to the foodbank. As residents amp up their recycling efforts, more essential food items will be donated to those who need it most.

It’s so important to us to support the communities where we work.

Cheltenham Food Bank

We are committed to supporting local communities and making a positive impact wherever we can, and so are committed to donate over 5,200 items to Cheltenham’s foodbank this year.

This commitment is part of our contract arrangement with the Cheltenham Borough Council, where we pledge to match Cheltenham’s recycling rate by donating an equivalent number of items to the foodbank each year!

The more waste residents recycle, the more food items we will donate to support those most in need.

We are thrilled to be supporting the council’s ambition to increase its recycling rate and reduce food waste.

We are pleased to work with the council and contribute to such a critical cause. A big thank you to Cllr Iain Dobie, cabinet member for waste, recycling, and street services, for his dedication and support towards this initiative. Iain said “I am delighted we are working with Plan B Management Solutions as well as helping to support Cheltenham’s foodbank.”

West Sussex Food Bank

Kelly Miller, our Principal Advisor, is helping the monthly food waste hubs, as part of her West Sussex waste prevention volunteer efforts.

This initiative has the goal of reducing food waste and to support the community.

Kelly’s role involves setting up and taking down, assisting visitors with their selections, offering recipe ideas, and sharing invaluable tips on reducing food waste.

Who is this for? Anyone on a tight budget is encouraged to participate. There’s no need for a referral, no one is turned away, and there are no limits on the number of visits.
